The Earth World is a dark and mysterious location which is the closest between our world and the faerie worlds. It is associated with the season of Winter and the Northern Direction.

Some of the beings in this realm can likely be seen upon the earth itself in a physical sense - though these same beings are absolute masters of misdirection, disguise, and camouflage.

It is quite a silent and somewhat barren land compared to the other realms, so there is at times a hint of fear, mystique, or danger - but there is also great comfort and beauty there.

Stories of Gnomes, Goblins, Kobolds, Yeti, Dragons, Star-Beings, and Dark Queen's or Mysterious Witches are all associated with this secret realm. There are many treasures and gems to be found in this world too - just as one may discover in the depths of the earth.

After having traveled through the Fire Realms of Findias, the Air Realms of Gorias, and the Water Realms of Murias - you will have the candle of light within your soul with which to light up some of these darker realms, and comprehend their mysteries on a deeper level.

The mysteries of death, silence, and transformation are all unveiled in this world and we will get to the core of our shadows and darkness in order to teach us forgotten understandings.

From this land one may also take various hidden pathways to reach the island depicted on Bernard Sleigh's Ancient Map of Faerieland as "Never-Never Land".

The purple line below marks the main territories of Falias, including the island of Neverland:
I give some descriptions of these hidden realms in my "Book of Earth - Vol. I" where I write that: "I continue down the long stone hallways towards the light, until I can begin to make out distant tall towers and city-like structures with comforting glistening lights coming from far away. I walk out into the open and it is early night with the stars out in the black sky, and a mild temperature. Around me I can see some very familiar looking streets and houses, which are quite similar in design to some of the houses we see in the physical plane. Many of the structures here are reminiscent of the human world in some capacity. There are parks of shorter grass to my left, an old road leading down the middle, and a collection of cozy-looking square houses along the right side of the street. Many of the paths and buildings appear empty, and yet there is a feeling here of life and awareness, even if it is from the trees, or the crystal tower lights, or the very feel in the air itself. I begin to receive several flashbacks of other ancient days, in which I have spent much time here, even when the leaves were still on the trees that are now barren. The land does not feel entirely desolate. In many ways it is really quite homely and heartwarming."

Though these descriptions were written of some of the first entryway scenes to this land - there are also many much darker and colder locations - though these are balanced by the very homely and comfortingly beautiful locations, such as the underground gnome cities.

An ancient wizard/teacher of this land called "Morfesa" can be found in the village below.
You can hear how to pronounce his name in this file here. The little symbol seen in the bottom left corner of the purple circle is representative of a "Village Inn". This entire area is much larger and quite different to how it is depicted on the map - with cobbled streets, many houses, and so forth. The Earth World is veiled in mystery and secrecy - and this has only been hinted at by the "Village Inn" symbol being situated next to the "Workshop for Seven League Boots". These are boots from European folklore known to allow the wearer to stride seven leagues per step - giving them great speed and distance traveled - and also a very good symbol to represent the extra distance/space/depth of this particular location.

Just as the house depicted here, I describe the wizard's house in the Book of Earth - Vol. I as being: "relatively similar to some old houses or cottages we might find in the human world, with a simple kitchen near the entrance, leading into a small and cozy living room which has a couch lying along the west wall, with a table in front of it for placing particular items or drinks."

I do not believe this is his house depicted on the map as it is facing the wrong direction - but this whole area is certainly representative of the same landscape and general location where he can be found. The chances are that if you were in the area, he would find you. His appearance is uncannily similar to the man depicted on the front cover of the "Led Zeppelin IV" album artwork:
Of course these beings can take on a variety of different forms based on what is being taught to the individual, but this is how he first appeared to me.

The symbol/item associated with the Earth Realm is a great stone or meteoric rock which can be found very near to the very same village - and not far from where the wizard dwells in his house.

Fiona Macleod explores Falias in her "Dirge of the Four Cities", describing this realm as a: "frost-grown city lit by the falling stars".

If one wishes to meet with the gnomes and travel through their beautiful underground cities, or learn of the Mysteries of the Ancient Yeti, then this is the world to explore. But be careful, for there is a Dark Sorceress which rules in the land (known in Finnish Mythology as "Louhi" which means "State of Trance"), and there are few who do not fall under her deep and hypnotic spell.
You can learn more about all of these themes by reading my "Book of Earth - Vol. I".
